Upload a Photo or Business Logo and Get Followers on Twitter

Friday, August 14th, 2009

When it comes to Twitter and learning how to get followers on twitter, there are several things that you need to know in order to attract more followers to your page. One of those that is a must know and is a must have is to upload either a photo of yourself or your business logo to represent who you are. People want to know why they are dealing with. This is only to be expected when you are dealing with a social network such as Twitter is.

Considering that this is a social network, people want to know who they are dealing with and either a photo or company logo is a good way to establish your presence on Twitter. This will definitely get followers on twitter by the simple fact that you have a photo or logo so that people can identify you and your business immediately. You will find that those profiles that have no picture will have very few people following them for any reason. By using a photo or logo, you have identified yourself on the network and this alone will have many people following you for that reason.

To get followers on twitter, you have to have some form of identification that identifies you and makes you stand out from the crowd. Your logo or photo establishes you as a human being or a company presence on Twitter. This is preferable to being an unknown and untrusted presence on the network. People like looking at photos and to have one that identifies you as you make it easier for people to communicate with you instead of some faceless person that they cannot connect with on the network. Most times, social networks ask you to put some sort of photo up.

The photo as stated above identifies you as a person and people can have some idea of who they are dealing with. To get followers on twitter a logo or photo is a must. This is also a matter of trust. People will deal with other people whom have a photo on the site. They are less likely to deal with someone whose face or logo is not on a particular page. This can raise suspicion that the person that they are dealing with is not a person at all.

So this is why it is pretty obvious why you should have either a logo or a photo of you on your site to get followers on twitter. The photo or logo is your identification when on Twitter. This makes you much more identifiable and followable than someone that doesn’t have those two criteria. So which would you choose when following someone, a logo and picture or none at all? This is a matter of trust. By having an online presence on Twitter, you can be sure that more people will be willing to follow you as well as trust due to those pictures and logos. So put a picture or company logo on your site if you haven’t done so already and watch the followers come.

How to Use Twitter: Twitter Marketing

Thursday, August 13th, 2009

twitter3 (4)There are many uses to which Twitter can be put, and this is the first of several articles describing some of these.  Twitter marketing is a form of internet marketing that uses the benefits of Twitter as a social media phenomenon.

When Jack Dorsey created Twitter back in 2006 as a means of SMS-type communication using only 140 characters (including spaces), little did he know that it would become a world-wide phenomenon worth untold millions of dollars. Little wonder, then, that it has found a number of uses other than simple text messages, but has the potential to become a significant marketing tool.

If you are like me, and are involved in various forms of internet marketing, you will find that some of those that you follow tweet nothing but adverts for their products. There are better ways of using Twitter than that to promote your websites and products, which you will realize if you also have a Facebook account and have integrated Twitter with Facebook, or any of the other social networking sites that also integrate with Twitter.

Every tweet I make appears on my Facebook home page. That means I can advertise all my websites and products on Twitter and Facebook with one click. That’s cool, and I am now looking at other social networking sites that cab integrated with Twitter to achieve the same thing. That’s using Twitter marketing at its best. However, that is just one simple way in which Twitter can be used to promote your products, and there are also better ways of promoting your websites and products that blatantly mentioning them in your tweets.

An important aspect of Twitter is your followers. I have many followers, but only a relatively small proportion of them would be interested in what I have to offer them. However, luckily there are ways to attract followers that will be interested in what you have to offer. These techniques are not difficult to use, and not only can they be used to attract followers to follow you, but also they then attract others to follow them.  In that way you can make Twitter go viral for you. Twitter marketing is awsome when viral.

This is particularly true if you have affiliate programs that others can sell for you. However, before Twitter can be used that way, you have to learn how. Not only that but you might also have to learn how to use Twitter at all, since not everybody registered with Twitter can actually use it properly other than just send a few tweets now and again.

You need to know how to find the right kind of people to follow you, and also who you should follow yourself.  Everybody wants to follow Britney, but when I want to know what she or anybody else is up to, I don’t have to put up with all her tweets filling my pages but simply visit her Twitter page. That’s the way to follow people without having your pages filled so quickly that you don’t have time to read anything.

I have just given you two tips in the short period of this article, but these are the very simple ones you should be able to think out for yourself. There are many more ways to use Twitter in ways that can help you without overloading your own Twitter page. Twitter marketing is a skill to be learned.

How to Use Twitter Properly

Thursday, August 13th, 2009

If you want to learn how to use Twitter properly you have three ways to go about it: teach yourself, get some free instructions online or pay for it. My son Tweets and he taught himself, but I had to teach him how to do it properly because he tried to teach himself.  OK, he could do the basic, but who wants to be happy with the basics of something with the potential of Twitter.

You can get some free info online on how to use Twitter, but it’s all very basic and you don’t learn a great deal – not any more than anybody else. Me. I went the third way and never looked back.  I decided to pay for it because I run a few online businesses and several websites, and wanted to know how I could promote these using Twitter without upsetting people. You can do the same.

I learned all the basic stuff that I already knew, but with a bit more besides, such as registration, how to make tweets and the like.  Then I got to the stuff I really wanted to learn.  Like how to get the right kind of followers for my business and how also to follow the right kind of people.  None of this was difficult, and I should know because I do difficult.  I write difficult stuff and help others to do difficult stuff, so when I say none of it was difficult I know what I mean.

Twitter is a wonderful medium in which you can let people know what you are up to and keep in touch with them if you want to.  You can use it as a marketing medium if you wish, but most get a great deal of fun and satisfaction just by using it as a form of online SMS service. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that, and Twitter is there for everybody to use as they want to use it.

I even just told a joke on it:  took me about a dozen tweets, but it seemed to go down great. What gets me most about great services like Twitter is these people that do nothing that advertise – every tweet is an advert with a website address on it that you must visit. OK, I do that, but only about one tweet in ten if that. And that’s OK, because nobody said you can’t, and I have had a lot of good information from Twitter.

Twitter is excellent social networking site, and enables people of totally different backgrounds, and with different agendas, to keep in contact with one another. The one great thing about it is that, if you don’t like what the other guy is tweeting to you, then you can block them out. Simple as that!  Nobody can send you messages if you don’t want them to.

Personally, I don’t care a great deal, but I can see how others would and I would never knowingly spam or annoy any other Tweeter because it is people like us that keep services like Tweeter going and keep the World Wide Web alive and vibrant.
